Winter is almost over and Spring is almost here!
Just a quick update before my Spotify rant... A NEW EP OF ORIGINAL MUSIC IS CURRENTLY BEING RECORDED!!! I promise :)
I will also be posting live videos within the next month or so of some new songs and a few of my favorite covers, so stay tuned for that!
If you are a member on Spotify I'd love to invite you to follow my artist page. It currently has the full Proper Goodbye EP available with new tracks coming soon! If you are not a member of Spotify, I strongly suggest you become one, LOL! It really is a wonderful new way to listen to music and it's all at your fingertips.
Now I do have to say, I was not a huge fan of music streaming sites in the beginning. I felt it was taking away from legitimate sales for artists; why buy the album when you can stream it for free. But the more I used Spotify, the more artists I was discovering and becoming fans of and in turn, BUYING their music. I am able to create playlists for the different bands I am in for the songs I have to learn, and playlists for my students music as well. PLUS, not mention for an independent artist to get their original music on a Spotify Curated playlist could mean a huge traction boost, and a huge increase in streams.
Now I know that the pay out per stream is not great. Actually between $0.006 and $0.0084; this amount varies depending on how it's divided up.

But the way I look at it is this... Streaming is not going anywhere. If anything, it gains more and more power and attracts more and more people each day. So why not embrace it. I spent too many years turning my back on things like music streaming and social media and it only hurt my music in the end.
